Government Sales Manager manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales to government agencies. Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Being a Government Sales Manager evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the department's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Additionally, Government Sales Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to sales team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Government Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Government Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities:
    You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

    • Identifying projects with the United States federal government, state and local government utilizing sources such as SAM.gov, GovTribe, and other resources.
    • Carefully examine project plans and requirements as outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP).
    • Preparing detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
    • Assisting in the preparation of bids and maintain involvement in managing the bidding process.
    • Working closely with engineers, sales team, project managers and senior management to develop project strategies, and plans.
    • Assemble the final bid package, ensuring inclusion of all RFP elements such as team details, references, and previous project experiences.
    • Submit all bids within set deadlines.
    • Maintaining records of estimated costs for future reference.
    • Participating in project meetings and discussions with clients and contractors.
    • Stay current in understanding our company core business practice.
    • Keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology.

    Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience Business Development, Technical Sales, or a related field.
    • Experience utilizing Sam.gov, GovTribe, etc.
    • In-depth knowledge of project estimation techniques.
    • Experience with request for proposal (RFP) and the bidding process.
    • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

    Strong total compensation package based on experience and performance.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $68,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year
