Government Compliance Manager plans and directs the government compliance function; provides corporate-wide focus for efforts relating to compliance with government procurement laws and regulations. Includes oversight responsibility for government contract compliance audit and training functions. Being a Government Compliance Manager establishes policy on a variety of procurement matters, including government accounting, government property and independent research and development issues. Develops and maintains the company's compliance risk management program to manage legal and regulatory compliance risks based on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines requirements and benchmarking research, facilitating the systematic assessment and management of compliance risks. Additionally, Government Compliance Manager ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley. Requires a master's/law degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Government Compliance Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. McKenzie Electric Cooperative (MEC) is currently seeking qualified candidates for Compliance Manager. This full-time, benefited position will be responsible for the overall compliance, security, and Information Technology (IT) at MEC. The Compliance Manager establishes policies, procedures, document control, and planning and project execution. The selected candidate will support the mission of MEC and make our members first priority.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Education/Experience: Associate degree required, with Bachelor's degree in an applicable field preferred; five years' experience in a security or compliance position at a utility or rural electric cooperative and three years of experience in a supervisor or management role required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Utility compliance regulations and cyber security experience is a plus.
Compensation: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
