Skills and attributes for success
- Act as a professional advisor and/or technical representative to the Contracting Officer managing the quality assurance process during the Construction Contractors’ performance of projects.
- Provide services and expertise to ensure the comprehensive project controls are integrated into the process to help manage time, cost, scope, quality, and safety issues.
- Participating in discussions and reviews of RFPs and designs before construction commences to ensure they are in alignment with best practices and applicable codes and unified facilities criteria.
- Providing on-site inspection and oversight of contractor performance, ensuring execution in the field adheres to project parameters and approved plans/specifications.
- Advises the government of any deviations/changes for approval or construction contract modification.
- Representing government equities/interests in the execution of construction projects.
- Performing technical quality assurance checks of construction work.
- Reviewing contractor invoices for accuracy and recommending approval/rejection to the government.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 7 years of experience performing construction oversight duties of both renovation and new construction projects.
- Experience with ground-up construction and multi-trade renovations of single and multi-story facilities in the commercial and government sectors.
