ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICE

PARK SERVICES I OR II

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Parks & Recreation

HIRING RANGE: $18.85-$23.05/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hours/week

LOCATION OF POSITION: Throughout Elkhart County Parks System

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Between Parks (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities for maintaining park facilities, grounds, and equipment, and protecting park lands and visitors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED with one (1) year of related work experience
• Two years of post-secondary education in a related field with 2-5 years related experience for Park II
• Be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to operate various vehicles/equipment/tools in the performance of duties
• Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of department policies and procedures, County ordinances, and applicable OHSA safety policies and procedures
• Ability to work professionally with the public and as a team with other staff
• Possession of or ability to obtain/maintain within six (6) months of hire certifications in standard first aid and adult/infant CPR
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen
