This individual will manage the processes around delineation of privileges and institutional criteria creation and review across the Vandalia Health System “health system” hospital medical staffs while providing support to all medical staff processes as it relates to privileging. The goal is to improve consistency and standardization with privileging processes across health system hospitals as appropriate.
Responsibilities
Responsible for assessing the privileging process and documents across health system hospitals in order to streamline, standardize and deliver an accurate and up to date crosswalk of privilege documents while evaluating discrepancies and providing support to close gaps at the direction of the health system medical staff steering committee. Assists in the development of privilege documents by offering supplemental research support with providers / departments and medical staff offices to ensure an objective, evidence-based process that accurately defines the specific activities/procedures/privileges to be performed at the organization. Directs the development of new institutional criteria within delineated formats and ensures ongoing review of those documents within outlined time frames as prescribed by the medical staff across the health system hospitals. Assists in future direction and strategies for the development of consistent and congruent delineation of privilege documents across the health system. Keeps communication methods always open between medical staff offices and key stakeholders to the processes. Develop a system for standardizing reviews of privileging documents and institutional criteria for the system and the hospital level by working collaboratively with the medical staff offices. Maintain MDStaff ePriv software at CAMC and serve as a liaison with other health system hospital medical affairs departments to ensure the same as requested. Meet weekly with leadership of medical staff offices within health system Create a health system educational tool and plan around privileging processes to include a consistent process around requests for new privileges and periodic reviews that meets the needs of the individual hospital policy and process. Report monthly status updates to the Vandalia Steering Committee

Education
• Master's Degree (Required) Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or related field. Experience: 7 - 10 Years Experience as a combination of clinical nursing, criteria based peer review, performance improvement, and Medical Staff Committees/Activities; Demonstrated accomplishments pertinent to the position Substitution: BSN with 10 years experience in areas relevant to the scope may be substituted with a Masters Degree and 8 years experience.
Previous OR/Procedural Area experience preferred
