Government Affairs Manager implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Manager performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Manager creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Government Affairs Officer - Hybrid

    The Government Affairs Officer will support government affairs operations across Oregon, Eastern Washington, Montana, Texas and New Mexico. The position be responsible for advancement of state legislative and regulatory advocacy, including research and policy analysis, implementation support, and communications with internal audiences on priority Providence issues. The position oversees local engagement in key markets to support Providence’s positioning in the local community. The position is also accountable for monitoring major initiatives of state and local regulatory and enforcement agencies, ensuring Providence leadership is aware of policies and activities that will impact the organization's operations or strategic direction. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.

    Required qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Communications, Government, or Health Administration.

    • 6 years 6-8 years of work experience in legislative or regulatory activities, health administration or legal research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Experience in governmental processes and governmental relations.
