Golf Superintendent is responsible for overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Oversees continued development of golf course during golf season to improve playing conditions and maintenance of course during off-season. Being a Golf Superintendent manage purchasing, replenishment, and inventory of all materials, supplies, and equipment used to maintain golf course. Liaises with the Head Golf Professional on any issues related to golf course operations and maintenance. Additionally, Golf Superintendent typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION : High School Graduate
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS : Two years experience working on a golf maintenance staff for a regulation golf course.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE : An Associate's degree in plant sciences or a Certificate of Turfgrass Management from an accredited university can substitute for ONE of the required two years of working experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.) : Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification.
Must obtain Kentucky Pesticide Applicator License within six months of employment. The N-18 Pesticide Applicators License required by this position can be obtained by passing the test administered by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
