Golf Superintendent is responsible for overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Oversees continued development of golf course during golf season to improve playing conditions and maintenance of course during off-season. Being a Golf Superintendent manage purchasing, replenishment, and inventory of all materials, supplies, and equipment used to maintain golf course. Liaises with the Head Golf Professional on any issues related to golf course operations and maintenance. Additionally, Golf Superintendent typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Golf Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Golf Superintendent typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Pease Golf Course is seeking equipment operators for the 2024 golf season. These are full-time, temporary, seasonal and part-time, seasonal positions.
The Golf Course Equipment Operator performs work using large equipment, including tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks and other maintenance equipment.
Flexibility is important, as depending on the weather and golf tournament schedules, some days may be more/less than 8 hours.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mows fairways and roughs with gang units.
Operators all types of equipment; turf vac, skip-loader, aerifiers, sprayers,
May operate smaller equipment.
Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily; reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager.
Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the equipment manager or assistant superintendent, and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
Other duties as required.
These are not benefits eligible positions, however discounted rates for golfing are available as availability exists to part time staff, and a discount on meals.
