Golf Superintendent - Assistant assists the Superintendent in the overall maintenance and care of the golf course, including turf/grass management, irrigation, and chemical applications (e.g., fertilizer, pesticides) to ensure quality playing conditions. Supervises personnel and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths. Being a Golf Superintendent - Assistant ensures adherence to golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence. Additionally, Golf Superintendent - Assistant may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a golf course superintendent. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. - Superintendent of Schools
- Master’s degree or higher with a major in educational leadership or administration
- Demonstrated competency in state curriculum frameworks
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team
- Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience implementing best practices in standards-based instruction
- At least five years of teaching experience and three years of administrative experience
- Massachusetts certification or certifiable as assistant superintendent/superintendent.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the school committee policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities may include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Acts in the absence of the superintendent as the administrator in charge of the district.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, staff, municipal personnel and the broader school community.
- Assists the superintendent and staff in analyzing personnel and financial issues as they relate to meeting the educational needs of students, and seeks solutions to improve the overall delivery of the educational program and services provided to all students.
- Leads, oversees and reviews curriculum review, documentation, and alignment.
- Evaluates and interprets student assessment data and prepares an annual plan for improvement of student achievement.
- Coordinates the district’s mentoring and induction programs.
- Creates and implements a coordinated and focused professional development program for all district employees.
- Coordinates the integration of enrichment and remediation services into content areas in grades PreK-12.
- Provides leadership to task forces and study groups.
- Writes and administers grants that support the curriculum, the professional development of staff and student achievement initiatives.
- Reports on educational programs.
- Provides assistance to school principals in school improvement planning to address student academic needs.
- Supervises ESL and Title I programs.
- Works with the Medway Leadership team members to develop and implement the district’s technology plan.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
- Attends school committee meetings as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the superintendent.
- Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the district’s policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
