Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and care of our golf course in Ballston Spa. As a Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising a team of course staff, ensuring the proper upkeep of greens, fairways,tees and irrigation systems.
Duties:
- Lead and supervise a team of grounds staff in performing various tasks related to landscape maintenance
- Plan and schedule daily work assignments for the team
- Coordinate with general manager to understand specific needs and preferences
- Perform regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards
- Oversee the maintenance of the golf course to include, lawns, trees, and irrigation systems
- Provide guidance on proper planting techniques, pruning methods, and pest control measures
- Monitor and maintain equipment inventory and ensure proper functioning of tools and machinery
- Collaborate with vendors to source necessary materials and supplies
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including time sheets, inventory logs, and maintenance reports
Experience:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the landscaping industry
- Strong knowledge of Golf course care, tree care, lawn care, and landscape maintenance practices
- Ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in operating landscaping equipment and machinery
Skills:
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve desired outcomes
- Supervising: Experience in supervising a group atmosphere.
- Maintain: Ability to oversee the maintenance of gardens, lawns, trees, and irrigation system.
New York State pesticide license is required and degree in agronomy is a preferred experience.
