Golf Greenskeeper performs various golf course maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, and edging. Lays sod, plants trees, and seeds turf. Being a Golf Greenskeeper repairs ball marks on greens, tees and fairway divots. Maintains bunkers and sand traps, changes holes, and performs other general maintenance activities. Additionally, Golf Greenskeeper may be responsible for the upkeep and fueling of golf course maintenance equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Golf Greenskeeper works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. - Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
- Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas
- Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
- Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessary
- Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
- Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
- Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
