Engineering Technician Position Description
An engineering technician position is a dynamic, fast paced, very independent and ever-changing work schedule predominantly in the field. An engineering technician position involves 75% or more field work in all types of weather on residential and commercial sites. You must possess a reliable vehicle that can store field equipment, and sometimes even a wheelbarrow. It requires driving to multiple job sites usually within 1/2 hour to 1 hour of Asheville, but sometimes up to 2 hours away. You must be capable of carrying 50 pounds to and from your vehicle to a job site and up and down slopes. Appropriate clothing for all 4 seasons and work boots/hiking boots are required. A reliable smartphone and signal is required for continuous communication with engineering staff and technicians. You must be proficient with Microsoft word and excel documents.
