    company seeking a full-time entry-level Field Geophysicist to support our Geophysical Services
    Department. This position will be based out of the Los Alamos, NM office, however alternate work
    locations near other TPMC offices in Albuquerque NM, Exton PA, Ft. Worth TX, and Pensacola, FL may be
    considered. Relocation assistance may be provided.

    Job Description:

    The field geophysicist will perform a variety of data collection tasks using geophysical and GPS
    equipment to support DoD Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) projects including Advanced
    Geophysical Classification (AGC) surveys at formerly used defense sites with the potential for
    unexploded ordnance (UXO) contamination, as well as pre-construction digital geophysical mapping
    (DGM) surveys for various commercial and federal clients. The Field Geophysicist will also perform office
    related tasks including work plan preparation, report writing, data analysis, and quality management
    program support. Assignments will be completed under the direction of a project geophysicist, site
    geophysicist, and project manager and are designed to develop a practical knowledge of geophysical
    data acquisition, processing and analysis.

    Primary duties and responsibilities for this position include:

    • Acquiring EM61-MK2, EM31-MK2 and advanced EMI data in the field
    • Conducting or monitoring daily quality control tests of equipment and methods and
    documenting test results
    • Ensuring field operations are performed in accordance with project work and safety plans
    • Perform and manage tasks within the project schedule to ensure production and quality
    objectives are met
    • Assist in preparation and/or review of technical deliverables
    • Perform other duties as assigned related to the Geophysical Services Department or in support

    of other environmental work at various TPMC office locations

    Required Experience/Qualifications:
    • Four-year degree in geophysics, geology, or related field
    • 0 to 3 years of professional experience collecting geophysical data
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Valid U.S. Driver's License
    Desired Experience/Qualifications:
    • Current 40-hr HAZWOPER training with 8-hr annual refresher
    • Experience collecting and processing geophysical field data with the EM61-MK2, EM31-MK2,
    and advanced EMI sensors including APEX and MetalMapper 2x2
    • Experience with RTK GPS or LiDAR based positional (SLAM) data acquisition
    • Experience using ArcGIS Survey123 and Field Maps for data collection
    • Experience processing geophysical data with Geosoft's Oasis Montaj or other software.
    Experience with UX-Analyze is considered a plus.
    • Proficiency with MS Office and MS Access Databases

    Special Job Requirements:

    • Extensive travel to field sites within New Mexico and the USA is required with up to 80% travel
    initially. After gaining the appropriate level of field experience and responsibility travel is
    expected to be between 40-50%.
    • Field work involves performing physically demanding tasks (extensive walking, lifting, and
    carrying) and working 10-hour days (typically 5 10-hour days per week), potentially in adverse
    field conditions (cold, hot, high wind, dusty environment, rough terrain, thick vegetation) in
    remote locations
    • Ability to work within a well-developed quality system and strong safety culture
    • Ability to safely operate full-size pick-up trucks and UTV’s on and off-road
    • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
