Staff Geophysicist

  •  ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) has a need for an enthusiastic, staff-level field Geophysicist to join our established geophysical group in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is a mentally challenging and physically demanding position with approximately 25% overnight travel, primarily within the Carolinas.


    Responsibilities: 

    • Geophysical data collection and analysis for a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects 
    • Phase II hazardous waste assessments and UST closures
    • Vibration monitoring services 
    • Assisting with report preparation 
    • Assisting other service areas with drilling and field-testing work, as needed.

    Qualifications: 

    • BS degree in Geophysics, Geology, or related field
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Team player, efficient, client-driven
    • Valid driver's license (company truck provided) 
    • This position will require extended periods of strenuous fieldwork in variable terrain and weather conditions, overnight travel, overwater work, and night work.
    • Must be able to frequently carry and/or lift equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and engage in repetitive overhead swinging of a sledgehammer weighing up to 20 pounds.
    • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.

    Preferred:

    • Geophysical field experience
    • AutoCAD/MicroStation experience 
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
