Being a Geologist studies variations in rock formations and densities to identify new mineral deposits. Estimates depth, quality and vastness of deposits. Additionally, Geologist tests mineral quality and purity to determine feasibility of mining. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     PPM Consultants, Inc. (PPM), is an Environmental Consulting Firm with multiple offices across the Southeastern United States. Our Monroe, Louisiana office is seeking an energetic and career orientated Geologist (0 to 3 years of experience) to join our team.

    The Geologist will be responsible for completing field and office efforts including, but not limited to:

    • collecting environmental samples (air/water/soil/sediment); installing soil borings/monitoring wells
    • installing various types of remediation systems
    • oversight of subcontractors
    • assisting with data evaluation and report preparation
    Job Requirements

    Candidates should have:

    • the ability to safely work independently and in teams while consistently following specific instructions and guidelines
    • effective communication skills, both verbal and written
    • exceptional attention to detail at all times
    • a clear driving record
    • be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

    Travel is required to specific project sites.

    This position requires a BS or BA degree in Geology from an accredited university. Salary is dependent upon experience. This is an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth with an established and growing consulting firm.
