Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Cultivator to join our team. As the Lead Cultivator, you will be responsible for overseeing the cultivation process and ensuring the successful growth of plants in our indoor/ outdoor farm setting. This is a hands-on role that requires strong knowledge of horticulture, as well as the ability to lead and train a team.
Duties:
- Manage and lead a team of cultivators in daily tasks and operations
- Plan and execute cultivation schedules, including planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting
- Monitor plant health and identify any signs of disease or pest infestation
- Maintain accurate records of cultivation activities, including data collection on plant growth and yields
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring plants receive proper water levels
- Utilize hand tools and equipment for tasks such as pruning, trellising, and transplanting
- Implement proper growing techniques to optimize plant health and yield
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cultivation activities with overall production goals
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols
Requirements:
- Previous experience in landscape or garden cultivation, preferably in a leadership role
- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing fertilizers and other additives
- Familiarity with greenhouse or outdoor farm operations
- Proficient in data collection and record keeping
- Knowledge of hand tools used in cultivation processes
- Ability to operate irrigation systems effectively
- Strong understanding of plant growth cycles and requirements
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues is a plus
