Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice. Position Purpose: Responsible for planning/preparation/execution of assigned on farm trips and SD Regional Center production days. Tasked with primary responsibility of SD lab, management of lab tasks, coordination with Yackley Ranch team, and professional service team to ensure all client needs/services are executed striving to create an incredible client experience.

Education Requirements:
B.S. in Animal Science or Biology or a Veterinary Technician degree; GPA 3.0 or better.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Ability to travel during seasonal spikes (April – June, November & December) up to five days a week. Ability to put in long days (up to 14 hours) during the seasonal spikes.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Other skills/experience:
Must have valid driver’s license.
Must be able to operate a company vehicle.
Good communication and client service skills.
