Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice. Helio Health, one of Central NY's premier behavioral healthcare providers, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Counselor Aide.
The Counselor Aide is responsible to operate as a team member in providing services to residents with mental health issues and chemical addictions.

This particular opportunity will work on a Full-Time basis at our Green Street location. Hours will be Sun-Thurs., 4pm-12 : 30am .
In addition to Helio Health's comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible for a Sign-On incentive up to $1,500 !
Pay Rate : $18.67 - $21.36 per hour.
Responsibilities
Assists with the following counseling responsibilities : screening, intake, orientation, referral, counseling, crisis response, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping, and consultation with other professionals.
