Position Summary:
The General Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of routine and semi-skilled maintenance and construction work on College buildings and grounds.
Typical Schedule:
This is a non-exempt position and your expected work schedule will be either Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week. As a non-exempt employee your schedule may vary based on the number of hours needed to meet the job responsibilities. Any overtime hours must be pre-approved by the Director or Assistant Director of Facilities. The individual holding this position will be expected to work some weekends and will need to be available evenings, weekends or holidays to meet the demands of the department.
All General Maintenance workers will participate in a rotating on-call program with the use of a phone, and be required to respond to the university to perform different tasks at various hours of the day and night.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DESIGNATION: This is an essential position and must report to the University during severe weather and other emergencies, unless directed otherwise. As essential personnel, hours during inclement weather may change and/or the employee will be required to work overtime.
