General Maintenance Supervisor jobs in Monterey, CA

General Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates the general maintenance of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery. Oversees staff that performs masonry, painting, electrical, carpentry, tool-making, and/or machine shop work. Being a General Maintenance Supervisor estimates hours needed to complete tasks, prepares work schedules, assigns work, and inspects completed projects to ensure work meets quality standards. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, General Maintenance Supervisor may require certain certifications in the field. Typically reports to a manager. The General Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a General Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Summary
    Katherine Healthcare is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to be responsible for the maintenance and safety of our center, including Fire and Safety compliance.
    Essential Functions:
    • Implements and maintains established preventative maintenance programs.
    • Performs basic repairs to plumbing, electrical, and equipment.
    • Coordinates compliance with local, state, and federal codes and guidelines for safety and other relevant rules and regulations.
    • Conducts fire and disaster preparedness drills as required.
    • Coordinates annual maintenance programs.
    • Maintains inventory control for all general supplies parts and equipment.
    Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
    • Required: General experience in equipment maintenance
    • Required: Able to assess physical plant problems and respond
    • Preferred: Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing, copper, galvanized, and plastic pipe
    • Preferred: Basic knowledge of HVAC unit maintenance and repairs.
    • Preferred: Working knowledge of building codes, fire regulations, and emergency plant operations.
    • Demonstrated skills in construction techniques.
    • Knowledge of materials used in building construction and maintenance.
