General Laborer jobs in Santa Maria, CA

Santa Maria Transfer Station, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Laborer to work out of our transfer station located in Nipomo, CA!

This is a great opportunity for full time, year round work! We offer great family benefits, 401k with a match and paid vacation.

The schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday 7am-3:30pm.

Starting pay is $20 per hour. The pay range for this job category is $20-22/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Litter picking, sweeping, pressure washing
• Traffic control - moving sign and cones
• Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material
• Keeping site compliant with storm water laws
• Providing general upkeep of the transfer station and scale house
• Heavy lifting of equipment and material

Requirements:

• At least one year of experience related to the duties above
• Customer service skills and a great attitude
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand throughout an 8 hour shift
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs pounds
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
