Gas Supply Manager manages the supply and purchase of natural gas to meet company needs. Negotiates contracts with approved sources to maintain adequate supply and ensure favorable terms. Being a Gas Supply Manager forecasts change in prices in order to maintain company fuel investments. Coordinates proper transportation and storage of gas supplies. Additionally, Gas Supply Manager maintains business relationships with suppliers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Gas Supply Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Gas Supply Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Supply Chain Manager leads the staff and the procurement activities. Essential Responsibilities
? Develops procurement strategies and oversees all procurement and material planning activities from the initial proposal efforts through the delivery of the end product.
? Organizes, directs, and implements cost-reduction activities to ensure maximum return for minimum expenditures.
? Implements processes to manage risk within the supply chain and monitors procurement procedures to comply with government laws (domestic/international), regulations, and company policy.
? Manages contractual differences between purchase order requirements and supplier performance; establishes contractual obligations, while ensuring compliance with laws and truth in negotiations.
? Monitors marketplace changes to avoid negative impact on corporate cost and delivery performance objectives.
? Plans tactics and strategies for negotiations of subcontracts to maintain expenditures within program material budget limitation.
? Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs.
? Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.
? Demonstrates consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
? Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
? Other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
? Excellent facilitation and project management skills with ability to lead the procurement team and to drive tasks to completion.
? Knowledge of procurement best practices, and experience managing tight deadlines, in an aerospace/manufacturing environment.
? Understanding of contracts, compliance and government laws (domestic/international) relating to procurement.
? Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and demonstrated use of thought leadership to set and execute procurement strategies
Experience negotiating license contracts with a track record of success negotiating with a variety of suppliers.
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
? Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree required; 7-10 years of manufacturing experience required; aerospace experience preferred.
