GIS Supervisor jobs in Eugene, OR

GIS Supervisor manages, plans, assigns, and reviews analysts and developers' work on GIS projects. Oversees the production of reports, maps, applications, and visualizations for internal or external stakeholders. Being a GIS Supervisor ensures proper maintenance, documentation, and cleaning of GIS data. Develops methods to leverage GIS data for new applications. Additionally, GIS Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The GIS Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a GIS Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Evening (2nd) shift Supervisor will be responsible for leading a People First culture in a manufacturing environment; through planning, organizing, and executive production plans while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and costs. This role will ensure that all production contractual commitments are satisfied consistently. Our Evening (2nd) shift hours are Monday-Thursday 1:30pm-1:00am.
    What You'll Do:
    • Plan and organize a production schedule.
    • Oversee production process to ensure compliance with the safety procedures.
    • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
    • Communicate with upper management regarding problems and issues impacting production.
    • Effectively communicates job duties to 2nd shift employees and oversees their completion
    • Focus on skill gaps and training opportunities to ensure a cross-trained team focused on continuous improvement and teaches team members current manufacturing practices
    • Oversee the plant manufacturing process/daily workflow and set standards to ensure on-time production and quality objectives are met
    • Understand production goals and drive for results focused on meeting production forecast
    • Safely operates all shop tools/equipment including, but not limited to: overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move, flip, stack, and roll large equipment
    • Analyzes engineering drawings and oversees employees weld/assemble to print
    • Involved in the hiring of new employees by conducting interviews
    • Secures the building at the end of the shift
    • Responsible for observing and following all safety procedures and regulations.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    What We Need from You:
    • High School diploma or GED preferred
    • Experience with production scheduling required
    • 5 years’ experience in a manager/leader role within a manufacturing/heavy industrial environment that includes managing, leading, and developing a team(s).
    • Overhead crane experience required
    • Must be flexible with hours during business peak and demand.
    • Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
