Being a Furnace Operator/Tender requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Furnace Operator/Tender relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Copper State Bolt & Nut Company is seeking a Qualified Furnace Operator (experienced or trainee) to join our team. You will operate our integral batch quench and tempering furnaces. We provide on-line training that leads to a certification as a Qualified Furnace Operator. While it does get quite warm in our operation, you will be provided with ample cool down breaks. We provide electrolyte drinks and freezer pops for our team during the hot AZ summers.
Responsibilities:
Operate applicable machinery or equipment to completely process metal parts through all heat treatment processes.

Physical requirements
This position will be subject to temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
Typical Work/Shift Hours
Overtime must be authorized/monitored by supervisors but is often required for this position.
Must be available to work other shifts and weekends when training or shift coverage is required.
Weekend and holiday shifts may be required with a minimum of one-week prior notice.
