Job Duties
Norfolk State University’s Housing and Residence Life seeks applications for the Front Desk Supervisor. This position will assist the Resident Director with creating, coordinating and maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained residential environment.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Maintains supervision of front desk area during assigned shift, greets customers, answers phones, and provides exceptional customer service at all times.
2. Responsible for providing administrative support for general office tasks, assists with complaints, maintenance reports, issues, and data entry as needed.
3. Serves as the initial first-responder for emergencies, incidents and crises, as needed.
4. Serves as essential personnel.
5. Must be able to work 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
2. Must be able to be creative and a self-starter, possess excellent organizational skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workload, and work well independently or within a team-oriented environment.
4. Must have strong customer service skills.
5. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
6. Must be able to work well under stressful, intense conditions.
7. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of training and education that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
