Fraud Prevention Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the detection, prevention, and mitigation of fraudulent transactions. Develops cross-functional initiatives to proactively detect and prevent fraud from occurring. Being a Fraud Prevention Manager approves and implements recommendations for process and procedure improvements. Reviews and implements best practices in the fraud prevention industry. Additionally, Fraud Prevention Manager ensures compliance with all relevant anti-fraud regulations and standards. Creates reports outlining trends, risks, and mitigation strategies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Fraud Prevention Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fraud Prevention Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description:

    The Fraud Prevention Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all tasks related to the Fraud Prevention area within the Risk Division. This position is in a fast-paced environment with several different processing timeframes, compliance regulations and daily deadlines.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    • Review daily alerts and reports using multiple sources for potential areas of fraud activity to include Bill Pay, P2P, Online Banking, ATM, Mobile and In Branch transactions to mitigate losses to the Bank.
    • Analyze real time wire fraud alerts to prevent potentially fraudulent transactions from being initiated by customers.
    • Evaluate high-risk online banking transfers for verification and potential fraud.
    • Evaluate online banking registration requests to prevent fraudulent accounts from being opened.
    • Perform ongoing monitoring of customers suspected to be involved in fraudulent activity using the Verafin case management system.
    • Contact customers to obtain additional information about transactions which have been identified as potential fraud.
    • Process Reg E disputes (Debit Card, ATM & ACH), mail compromised card letters and reconcile internal accounts.
    • Review and investigate fraud and IBanking incidents submitted by bank staff.
    • Escalate complex or large financial issues to appropriate management, with a sense of urgency for the situation.
    • Compile coherent and detailed fraud event summaries for suspicious activity, fraud schemes and elder financial exploitation using various programs and reports.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • 2 years’ experience in fraud detection in a Retail or fraud prevention role.
    • Detailed oriented with strong banking knowledge in all areas of check processing.
    • Experience in working within a high-volume area with a strong ability to efficiently identify and take action on suspect transactions.
    • Possess a proven track-record of attention to detail with accuracy and strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask to meet daily time frames and answer phone calls.
    • The ability to work well with limited direction and strong communication skills among within a team environment.
    • The ability to learn a knowledge of the following systems: Insight, WITS, Ensenta, Verafin, Payveris, Fiserve, CheckFree, Digital Archives, iDentifi, Image Vision, Vision Archive, IBanking Admin, Word and Excel.
