Fraud Prevention Manager manages a team of analysts responsible for the detection, prevention, and mitigation of fraudulent transactions.     Job Summary

    The Loss Prevention Manager protects company facilities, company assets, team members and guests through observing, reporting, and resolving conditions and incidents with a high standard of alertness, responsibility, professionalism, and confidentiality. Provides training and education regarding Loss Prevention and process improvement to maintain a safe, crime-free workplace. Handles potentially volatile situations timely and appropriately.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide training, development, and advice to Risk Prevention Specialists in all aspects of their role including training, investigations, interviews, risk assessments, case management, exception reporting etc.…
    • Partner with leadership to identify, recommend and deploy new and upgraded store LP attributes, technology, process improvements related to shrink, security, safety, and cash management. Reviews and provides recommendations for new and existing CCTV systems / burglar alarm systems.
    • Review the quality of internal and external investigations and interviews performed by the Risk Prevention Specialists to ensure that company standards and procedures are followed and case data is accurate; provides feedback and coaching to Risk Prevention Specialists as needed.
    • Develop strategies to identify root causes for inventory shrink and cash losses through investigative analysis such as testing data and interviewing all personnel related to the shrink and/or cash exposure. Develop custom monitoring vehicles to manage/mitigate the shrink and/or cash exposure. Compare industry issues and actions on related target.
    • Work in conjunction with business operating stakeholders to create policies, procedures, and training with the goal of minimizing losses to the Company from fraud and theft, including merchandise shrink, cash theft, credit card fraud, returns procedures, chargeback procedures, fuel theft, and other related items.
    • Coordinate initiatives, goals and targets with other corporate functions including internal audit, systems, accounting, treasury, IT, procurement, and executive management.
    • Oversee security programs/guards and security devices including CCTV systems, electronic security devices, fraud fighters, security mirrors, defensive merchandising, door alarms and the like.
    • Analyze data, procedures, and strategy to determine the scope of the appropriate course of action, recommend and implement solutions, providing training as necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree with Loss Prevention training/certifications is preferred. A combination of Loss Prevention certifications/training courses, with loss prevention leadership experience will also be in consideration.
    • A minimum of 5 years of loss prevention experience, preferably in a retail/repair environment, with multi state and multi-site exposures is preferred.
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word programs.
    • Understanding of profit and loss statements, SAP knowledge is desired.
    • Experience with Compeat/CTUIT Radar, Retalix, Ruby, and Aloha POS register systems is a plus.
    • Must demonstrate ability to influence and supervise others.

    Competencies

    • Must be able to travel via car or plane up to 20% of the time.
    • Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours of the day.
    • Must be able to view a computer/register screen for up to 8 hours of the day.
    • Must be available to workdays, evenings and weekends and be available for emergency calls 24/7/365.
    • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills: able to identify trends, exposures and develop strategies for successful resolutions.
    • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, must have strong interpersonal skills along with a high degree of professionalism.
    • Must be comfortable working in an independent manner, able to multi-task, be flexible with change and prioritize to the needs of the business.
    • Ability to make appropriate decisions in complex and stressful situations. Ability to travel locally and overnight as needed.
    • Good working knowledge of current technology and its application to the role (EAS, Burglar Alarms, CCTV, case management software, exception-based reporting, etc.)
