Fraud Prevention Associate jobs in Maine

Fraud Prevention Associate researches and analyzes potential customer fraud cases to identify and prevent future fraud. Reviews and responds to suspected fraudulent service requests and identifies fraudulent transactions using various research methods. Being a Fraud Prevention Associate follows standard procedures to document a loss and prepares a summary and reconciliation. Communicates the status and resolution of the incident to the customer and/or bank. Additionally, Fraud Prevention Associate identifies areas that need increased security procedures or software to protect customer accounts. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Fraud Prevention Associate works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED required; two year college degree or relevant experience in the retail, loss prevention or security field is preferred. Must be 21 years or older.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write accurately, interpret documents such as training and instructional materials, safety rules, laws, and ordinances, written reports and company directives. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of customers and co-workers.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.


    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to correctly evaluate problems involving losses of goods and or monies using a calm and common sense approach and within present company policies and current legal rulings. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
