BeatStars is also the leading A&R discovery tool for all the major and independent labels. Most recently, BeatStars partnered with Sony Publishing to launch its publishing arm on the platform.

    What You'll Be Doing

We are looking for a vigilant and detail-oriented Fraud Associate to join our team. As the Fraud Associate, you will be responsible for detecting and preventing fraudulent activities, conducting investigations, and implementing measures to safeguard the company against potential fraud risks. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our operations and protecting our customers and stakeholders.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review earnings withdrawal requests (related to music publishing, distribution, and other types of earnings) to ensure they are legitimate and in compliance with company policies
    • Be the Subject Matter Expert that assists the Support team with inquiries from our community related to payment issues and earnings
    • Monitor daily reporting feeds that identify potential fraudulent activity on the marketplace platform
    • Assist with implementation of new fraud monitoring and mitigation procedures and any related software solutions
    • Collect data on fraudulent activity and compile reporting to inform management

    What You'll Need

    • B.A. or B.S. in information technology, data analytics, accounting, business, finance, or related fields preferred.
    • 1 year related experience, preferably in a software, SaaS or subscription based technology company. Music industry experience is a plus.
    • Experience in identifying fraud, executing an action plan, and creating fraud reports.
    • Computer proficiency with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Knowledge of banking operations and/or credit card fraud prevention operations is a plus.
    • Experience with various accounting software is a plus.
    • Ability to complete a high volume of work at a consistently high level of quality.
    • Must thrive in a work environment of significant growth, development, and change.
    • Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize work effectively and adjust to multiple demands.

This role might be for you if:

    • You are a team player. You understand that flying solo is a limiting and isolating choice and know that making your team look good works far better than creating a one-person show.
    • You are an expert communication router - being at the center of the information triangle among the market, team, and company, you know how to find the best method and style to communicate thoughts, ideas, and feedback.
    • You lead by influence, core values, and example, through motivating, guiding, and keeping your functional leads focused on the vision and goals.
    • You relate well to people and easily establish good relationships.
    • You respond quickly and appropriately to the needs of others.
    • You have a knack for explaining complicated things simply.
    • You're level-headed and cool under pressure. When things change, you know how to roll with the punches.
    • You can tolerate ambiguity.
    • You enjoy managing the big picture, as well as the small details.
    • You are an out-the-box thinker when it comes to finding solutions for problems.
    • You will blow us away with your work ethic, your passion, your integrity, your attitude, and your energy!
