A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Operations Technician III, Metalworking performs operations required to operate and maintain forges, foundries, and furnaces for producing parts and products. They are also cross-trained on and can perform numerous operations within forging without supervision. They lead on the job training of lower level Operations Technicians.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Operations Technician III reports to the Supervisor, Operations
Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
Detect & report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
Detect & report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
Perform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs
Lead the training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.
Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated. Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.
Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Provides and documents training on standard of work instructions, policies, and procedures in a timely manner to ensure team members have the required knowledge and skills prior to performing work independently.
