Job Description:
Swift Straw is looking for a Forklift Operator to join our team in Jasper, FL. This person will have a great attitude and a passion for ensuring our manufacturing floor is running and each line is able to operate at max capacity. This is an hourly position with an upside potential to learn other parts of the business. The ability to learn and grow starts with this position.
As a Forklift Operator Associate, you will be expected to drive a forklift every day and load a line with product multiple times an hour. The ability to sit and stand throughout the shift is mandatory. This position can make or break our operations so dependability, good attendance and showing up to work on time are extremely important in this position.
Responsibilities:
Drive forklift daily
Understand basic safety and company safety policies regarding forklift operation
Work with leadership on needs for the day/shift
Basic understanding of machine operation.
Understand safety procedures and protocols in the facility and follow them without exception daily.
Associate must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
This role will require you to be constantly on the move for an 8-10-hour shift.
Cleaning high and low spaces in a distribution center or warehouse environment
Qualifications:
High School graduate or recipient of GED
Experiencing managing a shift within a manufacturing facility
Forklift experience is required
Understand basic safety and company safety policies regarding forklift operation
Strong organization skills with experience managing complex systems
Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to be hands-on in the production line, shop, or office
Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Drive, ability to learn Swift Straw’s operating system (Rootstock)
Excellent communication skills – subordinates, company leadership, contractors, laborers
Team player - ability to work well within a team
Possess a valid driver’s license and insurable on company’s commercial auto policy
Pass pre-employment drug screening
