The front counter Visitor Centre position is one of the most public roles within the Department and is pivotal to our overall success.
As the departmental host, you are responsible for ensuring that every person who walks through the door gets the best possible service, whether they're looking for information (or kiwi's), checking out the displays, purchasing tramping equipment or just escaping the rain.
You will need to be friendly, knowledgeable, organised, quick thinking and excel at customer service.
The role varies from day to day and can include :
Your hours of work will vary throughout the year to cover seasonal peaks and will include work on statutory holidays and weekends.
Your rostered hours are usually split as follows : 40 hours per week 4 months of Summer, 30 hours per week 4 months of Autumn and Spring, 20 hours per week 4 months of Winter, the exact dates and hours will be determined on a roster basis and will be discussed on appointment.
