Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the Summer 2024 Western Native Plant Restoration Corps as a Project Leader, guiding and mentoring young adults aged 18 and older through dynamic challenges in native plant restoration. Collaborate with agency partners to execute projects, ensuring crew safety and performance. Embark on transformative adventures, leading hands-on projects with land managers to restore native plant habitats. This journey potentially includes traversing long, winding hikes, navigating Forest Service dirt roads that lead to untouched landscapes, and mastering the use of essential equipment, from backpack sprayers to chainsaws and various hand tools that shape the very fabric of our environment.
The Willamette National Forest has a diverse slate of habitat restoration, native and invasive species project work in 2024. Projects include surveys and mapping with GIS/GPS, native plant seeding, invasive species removal. Project work is located near McKenzie Bridge, OR and will include projects in nearby designated wilderness areas.
