Millwork Operator Lead and Material Handler
The position is responsible for a variety of production and warehouse functions in a wholesale hardwood lumber distribution facility.
Ideal candidate has experience machining rough hardwood lumber: surfacing, straight line ripping and ripping to width in a production, high volume environment. Candidate is responsible for setting up and maintaining the machines; insuring the safe operation of the machinery and the quality and accuracy of all jobs; maintaining and meeting schedules and tracking work through the facility in a fast paced, variable environment.
Additionally, you have the ability to pull orders with accuracy and identify and sort rough lumber to meet the needs and the required yields of the specific tickets. This role functions as a Lead and will provide direction and supervision of 1-2 additional co-workers in the mill facility. Experience operating an 8000lb. forklift safely and efficiently (or the ability to learn quickly) is necessary. Although this is a Lead position you are part of a larger team and will interact and collaborate with our warehouse and trucking teams and with our sales staff to meet and exceed the needs of our customers. Good attendance, attitude and dependability expected. Overtime work as needed.
