1. Assist in implementing a wide spectrum of activities, classes, seasonal community events, and recreation activities for children, adults, families and/or older adults.
2. Open the assigned program area on time, perform a general inspection and ensure area is safe for use; report any damage or disrepair to Supervisor.
3. Check in participants and verify registration.
4. Check out equipment for participant use and return to proper storage area upon its return. Report any lost or damaged equipment to Supervisor at the end of shift.
5. Respond to emergencies and report all incidents/accidents to Supervisor, immediately, and complete necessary forms.
6. Set up, organize, and monitor play. Ensure all participants have an opportunity to participate. Inform and enforce building and/or park use, rules, playtimes, etc.
7. Evaluate programs; make recommendations for improvement.
8. Clean up the activity area and return equipment to proper storage areas, turn off all equipment, lights, and properly secure storage areas and assigned work area at the end of work shift.
9. Greet the public; provide information and assistance regarding schedules, registration, program descriptions and other general information over the phone and in person.
10. Perform light custodial duties, such as: sweeping, wiping, and mopping floor, picking up litter and restocking restroom supplies.
11. Provide excellent internal and external customer service. Create a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior.
12. Practice safe work habits and contribute to the safety of self, co-workers, and the general public.
13. Respect diversity in the workplace.
14. Contribute to a positive work environment.
15. Maintain regular, predictable attendance and punctuality.
16. Perform other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
