We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager (Plant Manager, Facilities Manager or Operations Manager) who will be responsible for a metal recycling facility in Moulton, AL!
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Must demonstrate strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, sound ethical judgement and the ability to adapt and operate in a fast-moving environment.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to hold themselves and others accountable for results.
- Highly motivated and able to manage multiple activities and projects and effectively communicate results.
- Responsible for overseeing entire facility operations and maintenance.
- Implement and ensure high performance of safety metrics.
- Ensures Policies and Procedures are understood and practiced.
- Ensures personnel are performing functions required of their positions.
- Works closely with the Yard Manager to determine the adequacy of operations.
- Coach, Instruct, and Teach all team members as well as team leaders for all areas of the warehouse and scrap yard.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Facilitate quality and service improvements and cost reduction by developing and implementing robust processes and best practices.
- Mentor staff to optimize performance, drive results, and prepare for career development.
- Communicate the company’s vision, values, and key results areas.
Other Job Functions
- Tracking and understanding all inbound and outbound shipments
- Ensures Compliance of local, state, and governmental regulations
- Establishing a customer focused and responsive environment.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers

- Risk Management
- Physical position management
- Updating and presenting spreadsheets to track and communicate projects.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or business
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership role in manufacturing or the scrap metal industry.
- Knowledge of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance and exposure to Human Resource practices is ideal.

- Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize appropriately.

- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, influence others, and effect change.
- Possess the highest level of integrity, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
