Forecast Analyst analyzes inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to determine the amount of finished product that will be produced. Determines the best metrics to use to provide the most accurate representation of the forecast. Being a Forecast Analyst works with other departments within the organization to determine optimal inventory levels. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Forecast Analyst typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Forecast Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. A Day in the Life of the Inventory & Forecast Analyst
The Inventory & Forecast Analyst is responsible for finding solutions to meet company goals for forecast error, inventory turns, fill rate, and other company metrics. The Inventory & Forecast Analyst also develops and maintains accurate demand forecasts, monitors inventory levels to ensure high fill rate without creating excess inventory, and reduces current inventories of excess/discontinued products.
