Food and Beverage Shift Manager - Casino jobs in Plainfield, NJ

Role Purpose:

Responsible for the management of dining room service in the manor most pleasing to members and their guests. Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining room. Supervise and train dining room staff; manage within budgetary restraints; develop and implement programs to increase revenues.

Responsibilities:

• Schedules personnel and plans dining room set-up based upon anticipated member/guest counts and client needs.
• Takes reservations and checks table reservation schedules
• Greets and seats members/guests
• Carefully supervises dining room staff to help assures proper service; takes orders when needed
• Inspects DR employees to ensure they are always in proper uniform and clean uniforms
• Trains, supervises, and evaluates dining room staff
• Provides appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, etc.
• Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverages, and services
• Directs pre-meal meetings with DR staff. Relays pertinent info regarding service, policy changes, new products etc.
• Assures that the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the night
• Resolves all POS related issues, i.e., voids, comps, open checks, transfers etc.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings

• Develop and cultivate deep relationships with members
• Undergo regular training to ensure standards and expectations are up to date.
• Build a strong DR team to be ready to provide gracious hospitality anytime of the day
• Reporting Structure and Interactions:
• Reports to F&B Director

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in a similar environment.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• 3-5 years of management in a similar role or relevant experience
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in food and beverage or a related field.
