They are responsible for strong and effective leadership, direction, and professional expertise in all areas of food and beverage. The VP of Food & Beverage will work in partnership with all departments and leaders throughout the organization to implement high impact dining experiences designed to enhance the guest experience and profitability.


    Essential Job Functions:

    • Contributes to the short- and long-term strategies of the organization through a review of business practices, and leads the development of an innovative, highly competent food and beverage operation that is in alignment with those strategies.
    • Participates with the senior leadership team in the creation and execution of business growth and performance strategies.
    • Evaluates organizational design to verify alignment with strategic business goals; embed processes to ensure this evaluation occurs throughout the year as talent changes occur via promotions, departures and or other moves.
    • Establishes and monitors meaningful metrics to track operational and leadership effectiveness as well as the impact of programmatic efforts.
    • Builds, leads and grows a strong F&B leadership team that is perceived as innovative, driven and commercially minded. Provide one-on-one coaching to management to help resolve problems, strengthen their management skills and solidify cultural values.
    • Monitors and manages performance to ensure adherence to all service standards, sanitation standards, productivity standards and ensure outlet managers follow policies and procedures for check handling, while maintaining compliance across all outlets in Food & Beverage.
    • Sets clear expectations and provides ongoing feedback and development opportunities for individuals throughout the F&B function.
    • Actively engages in tasting the product for quality and consistency of the menu items the Chef and observing service delivery by observation and by interacting with our guests to ensure memorable dining experiences.
    • Creates and manages the budget, COGS, labor and other financial measures of the F&B Department. Monitor and forecast food & beverage department revenues and expenses to ensure company goals are met on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Manage and analyze all food and beverage Profit & Loss statements, reviewing month end division financial allocations and reports.
    • Implements and oversees processes to ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable national, state, and local employee relations regulations and laws on an optimal cost basis.
    • Confers with the sales/marketing department to ascertain when special events will be taking place in order to be appropriately staffed.
    • Ensures that all team members within the food and beverage department are properly trained in the performance of their job duties.
    • Establishes an effective communications platform that will translate the strategic vision into actionable items so that all food and beverage team members understand their unique role in driving the overall business results.
    • Creates and oversees practices that ensure each team member clearly understands and is held accountable for their respective performance expectations. Evaluate leader performance in setting and management expectations; and provide appropriate guidance and/or recognition.
    • Ensures effective engagement with department heads and consistent flow of information in both directions in order to reinforce a culture of collaboration, trust and open communication.
    • Identify key community-oriented activities to reinforce the philanthropic focus of the organization while strengthening team member connections.
    • Oversee local recognition efforts for quarterly and annual recognition programs.
    • Establishes and maintains effective and efficient department procedures and controls and ensures adherence to the same by all team members.
    • Support recruiting strategies to proactively address an increasingly competitive landscape in the broader employment market for hospitality positions.
    • Evaluates and oversees onboarding efforts to ensure newly hired team members establish a strong bond with our company through effective and frequent communication, clear expectations and consistent feedback channels.
    • Builds a learning culture by encouraging operational leaders to teach more through formal classroom activities as well as during on the job training and support.
    • Ensures that all outlets within the Food and Beverage operation are scheduled for maximum profitability to cover the needs of the business.
    • Approves all team member performance reviews and commensurate wage and salary increases.
    • Establishes and maintains contact with vendors and Food and Beverage customers.
    • Performs all other duties as requested or assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal communications skills.
    • 5 years’ experience as department leader in high volume Food and Beverage operations.
    • 10 years Food and Beverage management experience.
    • Ability to forecast and maintain the departmental budget.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
    • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
    • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.

    Physical and Mental Demands:

    • Regularly required to see, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear for 8 hours.
    • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
    • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Able to interact with others while maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor under noisy and fast paced working conditions
    • Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment
