    Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, they will want to return again and again.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Ensure friendly and efficient service to the guest, accept orders for beverages and delivers to guests in assigned area in a timely manner. 
    • Apply positive communication and interpersonal skills with guests, (internal and external) at all times.  
    • Welcome and greet guests to make all our guests feel comfortable; let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
    • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy and Up-sell beverage items using suggestive selling techniques. 
    • Answer questions about our food, beverages, other Casino functions and services.
    • Garnishes cocktails, knows brands, prices, and availability of all items.
    • Clean and stock service area, advise bar porters when supplies are low.
    • Monitor alcohol consumption according to TIPs guidelines & verify identification, age of guests looking under the age of 35.
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area according to Soboba Casino standards and Health Department regulations.
    • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
    • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
    • Be able to use the POS system to perform cash and credit card transactions. Receive cash, credit cards, and ensure the responsibility for maintaining a self-bank or casino bank. Properly and accurately input drink orders.
    • Be able to learn and successfully use the DOT system to take drink order remotely and deliver to guests at the machines on the casino floor.
    • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
    • Must be physically present to work a regular, reliable, and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
    • Maintain personal appearance; report to work in a clean uniform.
    • Be able to multi-task.
    • Complete daily checklists and have them signed off by a Lead Beverage server or Beverage Supervisor. Performs opening and closing duties in the service areas.
    • Ability to serve food when needed and assist in various food outlets from time to time.
    • Clean an maintain food standards when working in beverage areas that serve food. 
    • Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.

    • Participate in open communication and provide feedback to management regarding operations, staffing, personal development, and operational productivity.
    • Serve as a contributing Team Member of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians enhancing the Casino’s operations in all its business endeavors.

    Education / Qualifications

    • Must be 21 years of age, or older.
    • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
    • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
    • Must have a basic knowledge of procedures and functions.
    • Possess basic math skills.
    • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
    • Be able to be in the outside elements for 8 -10 hours at a time.
    • Ability to be on your feet for a minimum of 8 hours 
    • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
    • Honesty, integrity punctuality, reliability and regular attendance.
    • Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  
    • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.

    Certificates, licenses and registration

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license
    • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing 
    • Ability to obtain and maintain County of Riverside Food Handlers Card within seven (7) days of date of hire.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain TIPS certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
    • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified, or able to obtain certification within 60 days of date of hire.
