Responsibilities

• Knowledge of quantity food production, standard sanitation and safety practices and procedures related to the preparation, serving and transporting of food
• Utilizing and supervising the use of  commercial food service equipment
• Use the computer to communicate with sites, access information and place orders 
• Estimate quantities needed and to order correct amounts for economical food service
• Assist in requisitioning, receiving, and storing foods and supplies
• Prepare, cook and bake a wide variety of food in large quantities
• Lift moderately heavy items and stand for sustained periods of time
• Supervise the operation of kitchen
• Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Maintain proper care of equipment and ensure the sanitation of the kitchen
• Assist in inventory and maintaining records

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in the preparation and serving of large quantities of food, including the preparation of salads and baked goods, or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
• Hold and maintain current Food Handlers Certification.
• Ability to effective communicate with staff and maintain and productive work environment
• Ability to implement directives given by the Director of Food Services
