The Food & Beverage Supervisor plans and manages the Food & Beverage function to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction, while meeting/exceeding corporate/owner objectives and financial goals and complying with all brand standards and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
• Effectively manage staff: direct and oversee recruitment and development of employees; hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, review performance and salary levels; resolve conflicts; discipline and terminate employment as appropriate.
• Develop, recommend, and implement the annual Food & Beverage budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts, and objectives to meet/exceed management/owner expectations.
• Implement and manage all company/brand programs to ensure compliance with operating procedures, including safety and sanitary regulations and all federal, state and local regulations to support quality service.
• Market the Food & Beverage outlets: develop effective menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations, and presentations with company guidelines to capture more in-house guests and a larger share of the local market to meet/exceed sales and financial goals.
• Establish par levels for all products and supplies; establish/maintain inventory controls.
• Resolve guest complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
• Ensure that Food and Beverage areas and equipment are maintained to promote sanitary and safe conditions and to protect hotel assets, comply with regulations, and enhance guest satisfaction.
• Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports and information to hotel and company management as specified by procedures and as requested.
• Assume responsibilities of any line level food & beverage employee, as needed.
• Monitor all related Food and Beverage licenses and ensure renewals are initiated in a timely manner.
• Other duties as instructed by management.
Supervisory Responsibility:
• Supervises Banquet Captains and may supervise Bartenders, Cooks, Servers and Dishwashers
Job Specifications:
• Solid working knowledge of related company and brand policies, procedures, and services.
• Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Food & Beverage/Hospitality profession; all certifications required for food and beverage staff.
• Excellent managerial/supervisory skills.
• Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including: the ability to effectively negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
• Intermediate proficiency with any systems or software related to Food & Beverage operations.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

Education and Experience:
• Undergraduate degree in Hospitality, business or related field or a combination of education/work experience
• 4 years of experience in similar position within a hotel
• 2 years of managerial/supervisory experience
• Minimum training required per year as assigned by the company
• Any additional training required by manager
Work Environment:
• This job operates in a hotel/restaurant environment.
• May be exposed to abnormally low temperatures during inspections of walk in coolers.
• This position works indoors but may be required to go outdoors occasionally.
• Work days and work hours may vary.
