Position Title: Food Service Line Supervisor

GD Correctional Services, LLC is the leading Food Service provider for County Correctional. You will be working for the Food Service as a Contract Employee for the Prison Department. This is a 365 day a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day Facility, so weekends and holidays are required.

Immediate work (all shifts) is available at our account located within the Essex County Correctional Facility. Must be able to obtain and maintain the Security Clearance required by the Essex County Correctional Facility

Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Assistant Food Service Director or Food Service Director

Supervision Exercised: Directly Supervises labor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervises staff engaged in the preparation and assembly of food as well as those performing sanitation and utility functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (NOTE: This list may not include all of the duties assigned)

1. Supervises food preparation and tray assembly. Ensures guidelines are being met. Ensures portion and any special dietary requirements are fulfilled. Ensures timely and efficient meal service.

2. Assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency of operations.

3. Trains staff in methods of performing duties.

4. Obtains accurate meal counts.

5. Develops sanitation schedule and ensures adherence to the schedule.

6. Oversees cleaning of kitchen and tray assembly area. In addition, oversees washing of kitchen utensils and equipment according to sanitary methods.

7. Keep records, such as amount of meals served and hours worked by employees. Complete all documentation needed to meet standards.

8. Reviews supplies and equipment to maintain stock levels. Monitors stock levels. Reports any discrepancies in stock levels to Food Service Director.

9. Participates in the preparation/5 P’s (Participation, Pulls, Production, Portion Control, and Post Production), storage and assembly of meals and food items.

10. Follows GDC’s Standard of Operation for food handling and storage.

11. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.

12. Performs other duties as assigned by Food Service Director.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. They typical shift will be eight (8) hours per day.

The typical schedule includes one (1) of two (2) shifts:

- 04:00 am to 12:00 pm

- 11:30 am to 7:30 pm

Weekends are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
