Food Services Manager oversees the daily operations of the organization's food service function. Monitors inventory levels and purchases food, kitchen equipment, and other supplies as needed. Being a Food Services Manager provides related training and supervises service staff. Establishes quality standards for foods and maintains cleanliness of the facilities in accordance with state or local regulations. Additionally, Food Services Manager may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Food Services Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Oversee daily shift responsibilities of all employees (floor service, side-work, sanitation, receiving, invoices and time cards) and ensure actions are up to company quality, sanitary, and legal standards.
Help train, develop, motivate staff and monitor their performance while keeping an open communication for corrections needed.
Maintain positive guest relations and high standards of service at all times.
Have a comprehensive knowledge of stand organization and menu information.
Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation, health regulations, and company policies.
Solve all customer concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
All other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a managerial position in a similar style of dining, capacity and volume.
Servsafe, Food Safety Handler, and Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) certification required.
Have passion for exceptional dining experiences combined with substantial food and service knowledge.
Possess exceptional communication skills and an ability to anticipate guest and employee needs.
Maintain a professional and polished appearance and demeanor in high-volume situations.
Ability to navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and point-of-sale systems.
