Food Services Manager - Higher Ed. jobs in Richmond, VA

• Assists the Director of School Nutrition in planning and directing department activities as it relates to financial management. 
• Supervises accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, procurement, vending program and meal application program. Reviews and approves invoices for payment. 
• Reviews payroll records. 
• Prepares monthly and annual financial statements for the department of School Nutrition as well as for individual schools. 
• Analyzes and reconciles financial records and makes adjustments as needed. Reconciles School Nutrition accounts with the department of accounting
• Assists in the development of short- and long-range plans to ensure continued growth and ability to remain on the competitive edge to meet the current needs of the department. 
• Coordinates and assists in all department audits. 
• Prepares and plans budget; advises the director on controlling budget expenditures. 
• Schedules and supervises school nutrition accounting staff's work to ensure accuracy. 
• Reviews all credit card purchases, travel requests, special function billing, change fund, and vending. 
• Prepares all Federal Program applications Prepares and submits State Reimbursement Claim Reports to the Virginia Department of Education. 
• Coordinates and supervises all budget and financial related matters for School Nutrition.
• Performs related work as required. 

Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance or a related field; two years of experience in providing professional-level administrative, analytical and/or operational support. An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of the preferred level of education. Valid VA Driver’s License. This position requires the incumbent to drive. In accordance with Policy 5431, an employee who occupies the position and is assigned a district-owned or leased motor vehicle will be subject to annual driving checks and must maintain acceptable records pursuant to the standards set forth in the policy.
