Cashier - Food and Beverage Department

Position Summary: The Memphis Zoo is seeking friendly and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Cashiers in the Food and Beverage Department. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently processing transactions for food, beverages, and merchandise purchases. Join us in creating memorable experiences for our guests while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the Memphis Zoo.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and assist them with their purchases in a courteous manner.
• Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately and efficiently.
• Process transactions for food, beverages, and merchandise, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
• Maintain accurate cash drawers and reconcile transactions at the end of each shift.
• Provide information about menu items, promotions, and special offers to guests as needed.
• Assist with restocking merchandise and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the cashiering area.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.
• Adhere to all cash handling and accounting procedures, following security protocols to safeguard assets.

Requirements:

• Previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry objects up to 25 pounds.
