Floral Designer designs and fashions live, cut, dried, and artificial floral and foliar arrangements for a variety of events. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Floral Designer is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsibilities:
- Create floral arrangements for various occasions such as weddings, funerals, and special events
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate floral designs and provide recommendations based on their preferences and budget
- Maintain inventory of flowers, plants, and retail merchandise.
- Arrange flowers in vases, baskets, or other containers and ensure they are properly cared for
- Process customer orders and operate the cash register for sales transactions
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns
- Keep the floral department clean and organized
Skills:
- Proficiency in using a POS system for retail sales
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and arrange floral designs efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive shopping experience
- Experience with cash handling and operating a cash register
