We are seeking Experienced Floral Designers to become an integral part of our work force. We are hiring for both part-time and full-time positions starting immediately! At Bostonian Florist you can expect to enjoy working in a fun, upbeat environment where collaboration and teamwork are key. We are looking for someone who can be a team player and who is open to learning. When you join our team you can count on a set schedule of Monday-Saturday 9:30AM to 6:00PM with only the occasional weekend holiday or event work. During winter months when it's cold and bleak outside, you will work in an environment where you are surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants and you always receive an employee discount on everything in the store. Our shop is woman-owned and operated and we work hard to be a safe place for everyone from all backgrounds.

Pay rates start at $18 to 20 per hour and increase with skills and experiece. The more skills and experience you already have the more we can increase your starting pay. In addition, we like to give raises often to reward learning and growth in our employees! Hard work and attention to detail pays off here.

Requirements:

• At least one year's experience designing in a floral shop
• Customer service experience
• Be able to lift 30 lbs with reasonable accommodations
• Have an eye for design
• Be willing to learn and collaborate with other florists

Responsibilities:

• Create functional and appealing product designs
• Combine artistic talent with product and marketing research
• Work with clients to refine designs and secure final approval for production
• Collaborate with fellow designers
• Answer phones and work directly with customers in shop
• Driver's license a plus, NOT REQUIRED!
• Point of sale a plus, NOT REQUIRED!

To keep our facility as safe as possible, We have installed clear plastic barriers at the front counter. In addition we provide masks, hand sanitizer, gloves and disinfecting wipes for those who ask. Masks are optional in Somerville as of 08/04/2022.

• High school or equivalent (NOT REQUIRED)
