Job Overview:
Wander Whimsy is a floral design studio based in DC that creates artful, organic, personalized floral and event designs for our wedding and corporate event clients. We are actively looking for Event Assistants to become a part of our Events Department.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position with most opportunities on the weekends and evenings. Candidates should be self-motivated, attentive, and willing to be a team player.

We offer an hourly rate of $17/hr for set up, a flat rate of $100 per event strike and reimbursement for mileage. You will be able to sign up for event set-up and strike dates based on your availability.

Responsibilities (and expected tasks in this role)

• Provide top-notch customer service to our clients and vendors while on-site
• Ability to work with other staff and management courteously and professionally, with a willingness to follow company standards and expectations to attain customer satisfaction
• Complete assigned tasks quickly and efficiently to meet event deadlines
• Assist when necessary in loading products into the delivery vehicle
• Assist with floral designs on-site
• Load and unload supplies and inventory
• Set up event rentals and floral designs
• Clean up after set-up is complete (i.e. sweep, take out trash, boxes, etc.)
• Strike event at the end of the evening

Requirements ( and expected proficiencies to excel in this role)

• Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs
• Availability to work nights and weekends
• Must be well organized, have a strong work ethic, dependable and punctual
• Be able to work well in a team environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Driver's License
