Floor Assembler operates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures. Uses hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Being an Floor Assembler tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards. May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels. Additionally, Floor Assembler keeps daily assembly production records. Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Floor Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. · Inspects the final product at the end of the assembly line
· Continually reviews product for quality concerns as it reaches the end of the assembly line
· Assures the line inspector duties are fully complied with
· Works closely with the supervision to have errors are corrected
· The Line inspector is not responsible for correcting / repairing issues found
· Uses computer to record/track discrepancies found during inspection
· Performs off-line tasks when Inspector rotation schedule requires, such as:
o Hub to Rotor Assembly
o Galvanized Box Prep
o Cam Tube Assembly
o Paint Line Drop Station
· Mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity with hands
· Able to learn and properly inspect all workstations in assembly
· Required to attend and successfully complete the End Of Line Inspector Qualification Course
· Able to read and understand Standard Work Instructions
· Ability to perform the duties of an Assembly Line Worker should re-assignment ever become necessary
· Attendance must be better than -2.0 points
· Within past year, no written warnings for job performance or quality matters
